Dear friends of the Alphorn Group Magden,

We are pleased to present you with our latest quarterly report. Over the past few weeks, we have been rehearsing intensively in the community hall, with our main focus on the upcoming yodeling festival in Reigoldswil, which will take place from June 13 to 15, 2025. Preparations are in full swing and we are excited to be able to showcase our skills on this big stage.

Another highlight in June will be the Alphorn Association's central course, which will give us the opportunity to further hone our skills and gain new inspiration.

We are also looking forward to providing musical accompaniment to the start of the Brienz Rothornbahn season on June 7. This is a wonderful opportunity to share our music in a unique setting and enjoy the beauty of nature.

On August 1, we will then be performing in Sissach, Frenkendorf and Rheinfelden. We are looking forward to the encounters and the opportunity to inspire our audience with our sounds.

The Alphorn Group Magden

Magden is located in north-western Switzerland, between Maisprach and Rheinfelden. Approx. 20 km. outside Basel.

The Magden Alphorn Group was founded in Magden in 1997. Urs Keigel took over the management of the alphorn group in 2021. The group is a member of the Alphorn Association of Northwestern Switzerland. We regularly take part in blowing competitions. 

The group functions without statutes or a board. The shared enjoyment of alphorn music makes this simple form of organization possible.

Today, 6 men and 6 women play in the Magden Alphorn Group. We perform about 10 times a year as a group or in small formations (mostly as an alphorn trio).

At these performances we usually play in the key of F sharp with 3.36 meter long alphorns.

The Magden alphorn group rehearses every Tuesday. Currently at 6.30 pm in the Magden community hall.
